    Space Upgrade...

I have put an invisible Windows Media Player module on this page, so this may cause some problems on some computers. I will begin to use it soon, but for the moment all you should be able to see of it is an extra blank line of text under the right column.

    Portable Fresh Download Update History...

Here is the full history of updates to Portable Fresh Download so far:

    Version 1.7 to 2.0 (10th August - 21st August 2005):
    Manual registration detail entry removed.
    Automatic registration detail detection removed.
You now register, customise and use a copy of Fresh Download as a proper new copy of Fresh Download using Portable Fresh Download. No detection of details from another copy, or manual entry of details.
Parameters 'Auto' and 'Man' replaced by 'Reg' due to the changes mentioned above.
Also, due to these very large changes, the version number has jumped to 2.0, and I have kept the original source code for 1.7, in case I decide to revert back to it at some point in the future.

    Version 1.6 to 1.7 (10th August - 11th August 2005):
Batch files replaced with a better method of writing to the registry.
Fixed a problem involving no username being written to the registry when using saved manually entered registration details.
Fixed some problems on the manual registration detail entry page, involving the 'Tab' button going backwards through the password boxes, and the 'Save my details' checkbox not working.
Fixed some other small problems and, as usual, changed bits of the program to save memory.

    Version 1.5 to 1.6 (8th August - 10th August 2005):
Invalid password detection for manual entry problems fixed.
More fiddling to make variables in the sorce code easier for me to remember what ther are.
    Some Parameters programmed.
Batch files are now deleted after they have been used, to save space.
Bits of the program code that are no longer needed have been deleted, to save space.

    Version 1.4 to 1.5 (8th August 2005):
"Save my details for next time" Check box added to the manual registration detail entry page, and the ability to uncheck it and therefore not save your registration data.

    Version 1.3 to 1.4 (8th August 2005):
Save file is now a new file type: .pfd.
Manual regisatration detail entry window updated.
When you switch from using manually entered registration details to detected settings, all of the old files for the manual registration entry are deleted to save space, because they are no longer needed.
    A few dialog boxes changed.

    Version 1.2 to 1.3 (7th August - 8th of August 2005):
Save file for manual registration detail entry eradicated, because I could never quite work out how it worked (registration details never seemed to end up in the save file, but were somehow retained by the computer).
Replaced the save file with a few exported registry entries.
Fiddled with a few bits to make the file slightly smaller, and work better.
Ability to check if writing to the registry is possible.

    Version 1.1 to 1.2 (7th August 2005):
Ability to save changes to settings if they are changed whilst PFD is in use.

    Version 1.0 to 1.1 (11th July - 7th August 2005):
Ability to copy all settings on a computer with Fresh Download already installed, and save them.
Improved dialog box chain at start.

    Development version to 1.0 (29th June - 11th July 2005):
Save files (un.ini and pas.ini) combined into one save file (pfds.ini)

    I'm back...

Yup, I'm back, and I've brought a new set of programs with me...

Portable Doors is the version of Doors Longhorn that I am going to release. It includes Portable Freso Download, The Adventures of Guy, and Doors Longhorn, as well as a group of programs that you should hopefully never see because they run in the background to help Doors run. Total programs within the Portable Doors package: 7 (I think...)

Portable Fresh Download is now up to version 2.00. Look at the last entry to find out more about what it does.

    Busy for the next month...

I'm busy for the next month, mainly finishing off Portable Fresh Download 1.1, which is very overdue, but also doing some work on Doors, primarily finishing the improved Start Menu off.

In PFD (the short name for Portable Fresh Download), I am programming a section of the program, which can copy all of your settings for Fresh Download from a computer on which you have installed and personalised it, and save them, so that every time you use PFD, Fresh Download will be configured to your personal settings. I have also decided that version 1.2 will have the ability to detect any changes to these settings whilst you are using PFD, and save them, so you are not stuck with the original settings you had.

In Doors Longhorn (currently in Gamma version) I am reconstructing the start menu from Action Buttons to make it easier to use than the 'Windows stlye' start menu in Doors XP, Doors Longhorn Alpha, and Doors Longhorn Beta. I have constructed the main start menu, but still have to make the All Programs section, which will be hard because all of the buttons will need to be programmed to disappear not only when the desktop or start button are clicked, but when the All Programs button is clicked as well. I am still debating whether the All Programs Menu needs Sub-Menus (Like the Accessories menu in Windows). I may also develop some unexpected tools for Doors as well, like an internet connector tool.

Anyway, I will not have time to put messages here until very late August  or early September. However, by then I will hopefully have a new computer, so I will be able to develop my flash stuff again, and be able to use Terragen a lot faster. Have a great summer!
